At Lazy Goat Winery, our why is simple and personal: we’re creating a welcoming, meaningful workplace for my son — who has Down syndrome — and others with different abilities, because too often their options are limited to patronizing roles or no jobs at all. Over the next five years we’ll be planting orchards, perfecting our country wine and fruited spirit recipes, and building strong partnerships with local schools, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, and community organizations to create real employment pathways. We’re sharing our journey now — from hobby farm to country winery — to build a community of supporters, raise funds to grow thoughtfully, and celebrate each step as we craft a place where work is dignified, purposeful, and joyful.
